<title>DARPA Award for Significant Technical Achievement</title>
			<link>http://www.gdviz.com/web/about/news/about_news.mtml#darpaaward</link>
<description>The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) honored MAYA
Viz with a national award for outstanding technical achievement, chosing the
revolutionary "Command Post of the Future" (CPOF) system from more than 250
DARPA programs and more than 1000 projects. Viz shares the award with
its CPOF partners, including the program's military expert, Gen. Keith Holcomb,
USMC (Ret.), and private companies GITI, IDA, ISX, Oculus, and Polexis. The
CPOF program, which is currently being deployed to Iraq, gives military
commanders and staff a radically better way to understand critical situations,

<description>Ernst &#38; Young has chosen Dr. Steve Roth, president and CEO of Pittsburgh-based software company Viz,

in the technology category for the Western Pennsylvania region, has headed Viz since founding it in 1998.
The company has been profitable since inception and has doubled its revenues every year, even during a
turbulent economic period when many innovations and technology companies have come and gone. "It's a great
testament to our team's hard work and our clients' foresight that we're going strong."
Dr. Peter Lucas, CEO of Viz's sister company MAYA Design, clinched another of the
three finalist spots in the technology category. "We're thrilled and honored that two-thirds
